Malignaggi vs Khan, Campbell vs Ortiz on HBO

Over the last few years I’ve become a big boxing fan. I guess it it kinda started when I covered the Oscar De La Hoya vs Mayweather fight for Fox Sports back in 2007, and I’ve been a fan of the sport ever since.

This weekend (Saturday 15th) there’s going to be two cool fights on HBO with Malignaggi vs Khan and Cambell vs Ortiz.
I’m not going to lie, I’m rooting for Victor Ortiz, I’ve always liked him as a boxer, but I met him a few months back at taping of my show and he was a really nice kid with a lot of heart.
Go get ‘em Victor :)

On a side note the fight that I really want to see that may never happen is Pacquiao vs Mayweather, and if it does happen I’m going with Pacman all the way…that would be epic.

Who are you guys looking forward to seeing?

Hannity, Subway and Fish & Chips, all in a days work

I am in New York City right now for work, family, and for fun. Cool combo right?

Well today I went to see news talk show host Sean Hannity, and did a stint on his American Panel airing May 7th on Fox News Channel 9pm EST/PST

A friend of mine gave me a little flack for going on the show,  but I’m a true believer that you can disagree with someone on their politics and like them as a person.

Why does someone have to be deemed a  good or bad person, just because we don’t agree with their point of view?
(assuming that these people are some what sane & not inflicting harm on others)
I’ve met Mr Hannity multiple times now, and even though we bust each others chops, he has always been very personable and kind to me.
So I can only speak from my own experience, and say he’s quite funny and lovely as a person even when the camera’s aren’t rolling.

Ok on to the next, after the show, I decided to hit the subway, because I’d never taken a train in NY before.
On my journey I met a very interesting  NYPD officer and we had a nice chat about everything from favorite tv shows to the recent oil spill, after we were done conversing I stumbled upon an English Fish & Chips shop in Greenwich Village
Stopped off there, got some grub,
then popped into the connecting British Shop next door and picked up some English Chocolate.
Jumped back on the subway  to Times Square, walked to Port Authority and caught a bus to New Jersey.
It was quite the adventure in a medium sized nutshell ;)

Here are some pictures from the evening

Much love to you and yours

Congratulations Mario!

If someone had told me I’d be working with AC Slater 4 years ago, I’d say “get outta here!”
I remember watching him on Saved by The Bell as a kid in London,
however I was more of a Zack Morris kinda gal at the time ;)

Anyway I’m a little late on this,  but I wanted to Congratulate Mario and his beautiful lady Courtney on their pregnancy.
Having worked with Mario now for three years I can tell he’s going to be an awesome dad because he is such a warm sweet caring person.
Not to mention he is such a professional, and great to work with!

Don’t cry, dry your eyes

I’m going to go to hell for this…I know it.

I saw this clip and had to share it with you guys, I feel terrible for posting it.
I was sure this was a comedy clip at first from a bad soap opera, then I realized it was actually a guy that’s really sad :(
Just goes to show you how disconnected from emotions I am!
I debated if I should post it and the devil on my shoulder won this time around.

Damn you youtube! Why must you tempt me so?

Update* I know you were dying to see this in autotune with the Body Guard Sountrack re-mix, so just for you, here it is!

No one knows about Persian Cats

Some of you know I’m a huge movie buff, especially when it comes to independent movies.

A friend of mine hit me up today and told me I had to watch this movie called
“No one knows about Persian Cats”.
For a second I thought to myself the last thing I want to do is watch a movie about cats ;) (I kid!)
but she quickly explained to me it was about the youth in Iran rebelling against the current regime, and that the movie was centered around musical expression and the repression of musicians and anything remotely creative enforced by the government.

Roxanna Saberi (who’s father is Iranian and mother is Japanese) wrote the movie and if you’re thinking why her name rings a bell, it’s because she was also the American Journalist detained in Iran in 2009 by the Iranian government and was freed after 100 days in prison.

My guy fell asleep during the movie, so I don’t think he was much of a fan but I loved it and I was moved me to tears. Here’s the trailer incase you’re curious to get a glimpse of the movie, if you do watch it I’d love to hear your thoughts

Ugly is ugly does

Ugly…what an ugly word, if it was up to me, that word would be removed from universal language

It’s funny, I was somewhere and I was having a conversation with some people, and for some reason, a list of names of some well-known actresses came up. To my surprise, all I could hear from the others, was; she’s ugly, she’s fat, her nose is too wide, her knees are funny looking, her lips are too big etc.

Even if there was a physical definition of ugly, I would probably picture a Nanny Mcphee sort of character, and even then I wouldn’t say ugly, I’d say a little challenged in the attractive area ;)

I think the word ugly is not defined by what the outer appearance holds, but what the inner possesses.

For anyone that uses the world ugly, I would say take a good look at yourself, because the only ugly person, is the one using this word.

People are made of all different shapes, sizes, colors, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all. Maybe I am a little naïve…or slow. But I just can’t get around the fact, that anyone would have the audacity to put others down and get a kick out of it…in which case, I sympathize, because of how unhappy they must be inside.

If seems that a lot of the people that have this mentality, surprisingly aren’t exactly supermodels themselves, and they have the nerve to judge others by their outer appearance.

There is no such thing as perfection. The only perfection one might say is real is to be open and accepting of others.

I feel our society is so quick to knock someone else’s happiness, blessings, and success and that is an ugly truth to behold.

It blows my mind that some people spend hours, days, months, and even years out of their lives speaking about other people, ones they don’t even know. Maybe I’m a snob but I am a lot more concerned about fixing my own life than belittling someone else’s.

At the end of the day when you squeeze a lemon you don’t get apple juice…it might seem like a no brainer but think about it for a minute…people that are happy and secure in themselves exude that…you can’t squeeze a happy person, and have mean juice come out.

So my point is, next time someone puts you down, calls you ugly, fat, good for nothing, or anything hurtful…just know it says so much more about them than it does about you.

If you squeeze an ugly person, ugly juice comes out and they are just projecting that on to you…but no matter what they may say about you, its not going to make them any prettier, smarter, thinner, more likable, none of those things…it just makes them an ugly person inside…and I can bet you any amount of money when they lay their head down at night, they are filled with thoughts of torment and bitterness…and in the end, the ugly thoughts they have inside…will make them ugly on the outside, and that my friends…is how people become truly ugly.

When we have peace in our minds,  we have peace in our lives.

You bring about, what you think about.

Love A Play On Words…by George Carlin

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to life not life to years. We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We’ve done larger things, but not better things.

We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We’ve conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete…

Remember; spend more time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn’t cost a cent.
Remember, to say, “I love you” to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
