Breast Cancer Awareness Month/I Go Pink Campaign

I was so honored to be asked to do a campaign for the Breast Cancer Charities of America.
When they first reached out to me and asked me if I was interested,
I told them tell me what you need and I’ll be there no questions asked, because it is a cause very close to my heart.

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month, but every day, every month, every year we lose incredible mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, aunts, friends the list is endless to this cancer. Breast cancer is the second leading cancer in women, exceeded only by lung cancer, that is a horrific reality.
The good news is early detection is key and that is why it is important to perform self breast exams and if we notice anything out of the ordinary to see a Doctor immediately.

A huge shout out to everyone who put so much into this campaign,  my dear friend and genius behind the lens who is Nick Saglimbeni,
Gaby Ramos (make up) Al Ingram (hair) the whole slickforce team, and last but certainly not least the beautiful Lia Shahrebani for putting it all together.

I hope with time and more awareness, these numbers will drop significantly and dare I say we’ll live in a world that will be free of breast cancer and all cancers? Here’s to hoping.

A Look back at ABDC Season 6

Can’t believe the season is over, it has definitely been one of my favorite seasons to date.
A big shout out to I AM ME Crew who took home the title of America’s Best Dance Crew, and can’t go without mentioning ICONIC BOYZ
who really did such an incredible job, I know they have a bright future ahead of them.

Also a big Thank you to Diana, Maris & Thomas my team this season, you guys rock!!

Here are some pictures from the finale and the season, hope you enjoyed the show :)

Here’s the picture of the day, I Am Me Crew and I behind the scenes.
My beautiful dress was provided by Lulus.com one of my favortie sites! They have awesome clothes for such reasonable prices, so a huge thanks to them for dressing me :)

Gym Crew Challenge

My friend Ben from Real Dance Productions puts on an amazing event every year called Gym Crew Challenge which is an amateur dance competition,
they feature dance crews from the Los Angeles area.
This is the third year that he has been doing it and it is such a fun time, not to mention the proceeds go to charity.

Ben asked me to be one of the judges this year, and at first I was hesitant because I don’t really like being put in a position to judge anyone! but once he explained it was for a good cause and a fun time, I couldn’t resist.

My fellow judges on the panel with me were, the very talented Leo Moctezuma and the amazing Anthony Thomas (Rhythm Nation Choreographer!!!!)
I’m so happy I met them, and we had such a blast.

I also have to give a big shout out to the magical crews, Morgan who hosted the event and she was enigmatic!
Not For Sale which the event was supporting, (they are an outstanding charity working toward combatting human trafficking) and last but not least

Oznette Osborne who gifted me with a beautiful bracelet, you can check out her designs at here

Here are the pictures from last night :)

Hometown Glory

‘ello there governor!

Hope all is well in your world, Last week I took a weekend trip to London from Los Angeles.

Taking a 12 hour flight there, and a 12 hour flight back just to stay for a two day trip was pretty brutal, add jet lag to that mix plus the 8 hour time difference and you have the ingredients you need to feel like a walking zombie.

But let me tell you I was quite the happy walking zombie :) London is my original hometown, and has a very special place in my heart because of that.
Prior to my recent trip I hadn’t been back in a while, so it was nice to smell the London air, and walk the streets that have created many memories for me.

I made the most of my two day trip by having a little reunion with my childhood friends, some who I hadn’t seen in over  a decade…but we picked up right where we left off and it didn’t feel odd at all. It was incredible. I’m so fortunate and blessed to have such awesome friends and long lasting friendships.
We all had a blast, and everyone kept me up way past my bed time!

You have to visit London in your lifetime if you get the chance, I know I’m a little bias, but when the sun is shining there, it truly is my favorite city in the world. What’s your favorite city?

2nd Place in The Mercedes Benz Worlds First Twitter Fueled Race

I know they say it’s not always about the destination, it’s about the journey and  to enjoy the ride along the way.
Unfortunately for me, I haven’t always applied that saying in my life because coming in 2nd has never  been an option for me.

However in the Mercedes Benz Tweet Race I can honestly say it did become about the journey.
During the 4 days we raced across the country from New Jersey to Dallas, to raise money for Reverend Runs Charity (who was my team coach), and to support my charity  Operation Homefront who I was doing all this for, I learned so much about myself.

We fought ice, snow and extreme weather conditions, I even ended up in a Memphis Hospital on Day 2 of the race suffering from dehydration and caffeine poisoning (who knew there was such a thing?!) we saw a few fatal accidents along the way, and in my heart I was just praying to God we’d make it to Dallas alive at that point.

There was no way I was giving up though, I was doing this for our incredible troops who fight and put their lives on the line for us every single day, this was the very least I could do, to support a charity that supports them.

There is no way I could’ve done all that without Julissa Bermudez who was the most amazing partner I could ask for, and I know I have a friend for life in her after what we went through together, if only you could see the yelling, screaming, crying, laughing and bonding we did together on this road trip!

And last but certainly not least, oh my gosh the outstanding support we got on twitter, the amazing individuals that followed our ups and downs every day for 4 days, and sat transfixed at their computer screens to tweet us and give us the tweet fuel we needed to get to our destination.
I was truly moved by the incredible support, and it opened up my eyes as to how generous and kind people can be.

Here is a picture from the day we arrived in Dallas, Julissa, Stephen Cannon VP of Marketing for Mercedes Benz, Reverend Run and I,
and the check we received for competing in the race for our team  coach Reverend Runs Charity.

I will never forget this experience! Thank you so much to all those that went above and beyond to show us so much love, I am forever grateful.

Vroom Vroom!

Hey guys!

I hope you’re having a great start to 2011 and brought the New Year in smiling :)

I wanted to tell you about The Mercedes Tweet for a Race Event I’m involved in with my good friend and fellow TV Host Julissa Bermudez.

On February 2nd through 4th, Julissa and I will be racing against four other teams and completing challenges on the way given to us by the Mercedes Race Director.

Reverend Run will be our team coach, and will be guiding and supporting us through it all!
Our starting point will be NY and the finish line will be Dallas.

Here’s the catch…we can’t do it without YOU! Our car will be solely fueled by the amounts of tweets we receive, and if we don’t have enough tweets/fuel we will not be able to get to our destination on time!

Julissa and I are on Team CL, and we are doing this to support our charities.
One of the causes I will be donating to will be Operation Homefront, they provide emergency financial & other assistance to the families of our service members & wounded warriors.

I really hope you join our team, and help us to the finish line! Remember when you tweet use hashtag #MBTEAMCL

Come join our team HERE and help us win this! We’d love to have you on board :D

Best Halloween Thus Far! 2010

I never used to get excited about Halloween, but the last couple of years something drastically changed because now I’m pretty much obsessed!
Maybe I’m re-living my childhood? ;)

This year I was in New York City and had the best time ever. I
t was a perfect night, the whole crew had a blast, and I even rode the mechanical bull!
Yes that’s what happens when you rarely drink alcohol and decide to have a few drinks ;)

I hope you and yours had fun dressing up and connecting with friends

Much love

Back to the dark side

I lightened my hair up for the summer, but decided I love my dark locks, so I went back to the dark side ;)
I feel so much more exotic and more myself with my darker hair.

Here are some pictures of me as a darker brunette I found in my gallery,  shot by one of my favorite photographers ever Nick Saglimbeni
He has also become a dear friend over the years, and is just an awesome guy.

Hope you like the pics :D

Palms-Thai

Had the most awesome weekend, hit up Palms Thai in Hollywood, where they have inexpensive delicious Thai food.
I’m ashamed to say this was my first time trying Thai food and I loved it!
We went as a large group, and it was a blast…
The best part of the night though was Thai Elvis Kavee Thongpreecha, who entertained and sang Elvis songs while we dined.
If you’re ever in the Hollywood area and want to have a fun night with friends, it’s an awesome spot to hit up :)
